Lucas is the best friend, roommate and fraternity brother of John Sylver. Lucas contrasts John's impulsiveness and hot-headedness by having a usually calmer demeaner and being more analytical of the world around him. However, Lucas does still show a coldness to those who bully John and his other friends, such as those part of the fraternity, AZZ.

Lucas and John both take mixed-martial art classes together. Despite their rival, Kyle Rutt, being the top competitor in that class, it does seem that Lucas is very skilled in fighting. With high precision and  brutal strikes, Lucas may give Kyle a run for his money.
